MSD serves the communities of Moab, Spanish Valley and Castle Valley. The high school is known as Grand County High School and offers a variety of academic programs as well as extracurricular activities such as cheerleading, band and choir. GCSD serves the communities of La Sal and Moenkopi with two campuses; a primary/elementary school for grades Pre-K through 4th grade and a secondary/middle/high school for grades 5th through 12th grade. The secondary campus includes Grand High School which has many academic opportunities as well as extracurricular activities such as robotics club or athletics. The smallest district in Grand County is SJSD which covers the small towns of Bluff and Montezuma Creek in southeastern Grand County. It operates only one campus which houses both an elementary/middle school for Pre-K through 8th grades as well as Montezuma Creek High School for grades 9th through 12th grade. At Montezuma Creek High School students can take part in various academic courses as well as participate in extracurricular activities like student council or join one of its many athletic teams such as football or basketball. The largest school district in the state is Granite School District, which serves over 70,000 students. This district includes over 40 traditional high schools and several alternative and charter schools. These schools provide courses in traditional academics, career-focused classes, and extracurricular activities such as sports teams and clubs. For those interested in a more personalized learning experience, Utah offers over 30 charter schools that focus on specific interests such as technology or the arts. Additionally, there are several private high schools in Utah that provide rigorous college preparatory curricula for students who are looking for an even more demanding educational experience. These private schools often have strong academic programs and offer extracurricular activities such as music ensembles and sports teams to help develop leadership skills and foster a sense of community. Furthermore, many of these private institutions also provide additional support services like counseling or tutoring to ensure the success of their students. In addition to traditional course offerings, some of these private high schools also offer honors courses as well as advanced placement options to give their students an even greater advantage when it comes time for college applications.
